Garbage

We bought this when we were in search for a carousel DVD player that would double as a CD player as well. We were surprised to find that the core functionality of DVD players does not included playing CDs (it seems to be an afterthought) - we wanted a Full-Random feature on the player so that we can play 5 CDs randomly. Granted this player does have a random functionality that is as good or better than other DVD players on the market (the best it will do is play 2 random songs off of CD 1, then 2 random songs off of CD 2... until all songs are played off of all discs).

As a CD player it did well, but as a DVD player it is not so good. Brand new discs skipped in it, and the sound would occasionally "crack" - very irritating. It seems no matter what the model and make of a DVD player is, someone has seen it skip (even the Toshiba model that we settled on, although we have not experienced it skipping yet). But this was intolerable. It wouldn't make it past a particular section of a movie. Back to the store it went.

We then purchased a single disc Toshiba and are very pleased. We have yet to see it skip and is more "feature-rich" for less money. We are going to have to buy a 5 CD carousel for the stereo...but better to have 2 top quality components rather than 1 substandard one trying to do the work of 2.
