Love this Range
Pros:
Great styling, stovetop and oven lockout control, separating rack for the oven, even heat distribution.
Cons:
Storage drawer a bit shallow.
The Bottom Line:
I really love this so far. It looks great, and cooks even better. It would fit in with any style of kitchen.

Author's Review
My family and I had just prepped dinner and fired up the oven to cook it. After waiting for it to preheat, we opened up the oven......to no heat. Well, after a dinner out we discussed what to look for in a new oven. We have four kids, one being a young toddler, so safety is a must. Also easily cleaned due to the little fingerprints that would inevitable end up all over it. We had read about the power burners heating up the underside of the microwave vents, so we were looking for either all standard burners or the power burners being upfront. The color was the only other determining factor, since this was the last appliance that we had to replace and we wanted it to match. So after doing a few hours research on the internet, I went to sleep with burners on my mind.
The next morning we gathered up the kids and headed off to the Sears Outlet store. We had previously had good luck there with our other appliances. So we looked. And looked. And looked. If you've ever tried shopping for anything with four impatient kids, you'll know what I mean. There were many options, and we were trying to keep all of the things we had looked up the night before. However, after going back and forth with a couple of ranges, we kept coming back to the Whirlpool. I was drawn to the look of it. Very clean lines, enough black to fit in with our kitchen, but not too much to overpower the small space. Large dials in the front, the stove top grills not too crowded. The oven is large and we really liked one of the racks being able to separate in half. The drawer underneath is decent sized, and slides beautifully. For the safety issue, we liked that the dials had to be pushed in and turned at the same time, and they are a bit high still for the youngest. The price was fantastic (it had a ding on the side), so we purchased it.
Imagine our delight once we got it home to find out that it had stovetop AND oven lockouts. I knew it had the oven lockout, but the stovetop lockout is better than fantastic. Now we don't have to worry at all about the oven accidentally being turned on. It has a wonderful nightlight that the kids especially love, and it looks great in the kitchen.
So far we have made pancakes and eggs, ribs, and steamed veggies. They have all turned out yummy. The heat distribution on all of the burners and in the oven have been great. We are very pleased to have purchased this range.
Here's an update on the range! There are two grates on the stovetop, which are fairly heavy, but not cumbersome. They have a rough texture to them, which I prefer as pots and pans won't slide around. They are not coated either, which a lot of grates seem to be. It seems like our cast iron pan would have destroyed the coating the first time we used it. The cooktop is fairly easy to clean as the burners are sealed, but with having only two larger grates, they are a bit more cumbersome to soak and clean. The controls for the oven are electronic and it has an Accubake system to insure even temperature while baking. Ours came with a one-year warranty.
