March 8, 2006...beonder13 stops at GameStop and picks up his copy of the eagerly awaited Ghost Recon 3 :: Advanced Warfighter. Approximately 12 minutes later it is in his 360 booting up while the surround sound and HDTV come to life.
Everything about this game is flat-out beautiful. The sound of water as you splash through it or as it cascades off of the steps on Dry Docks. The way the sun blinds you if you look into it and then away. The sound of gunfire coming over your left shoulder or footsteps to the right of you. And then there are the explosions...
Oh how wonderful to have a bus explode into flames, throwing enemies all about.
And don't forget the settings. But how easy it is to forget them...because by the time you try all the different combinations of game play you will have forgotten the first setup you tried. ;)
You can set up a game type that you like to play and save it as one of three favorites for quick starts from day to day. When a map starts you can select your favorite gun, pistol, and grenade and press the x button to save it as your default weapon selection for each of your character types.
And don't forget to set up your character as well. Face, hat, goggles, helmet...the list goes on.
This is definately THE KILLER AP currently for the 360. Some minor things to improve on...a list of who is dead and who is alive. A compass on the hud. Minor things. Why only a 9.5 then? When I can toss a grenade at a tree...knocking it down onto the soldier hiding behind the rock and taking him out...then I will give it a 10.

"GRAW" DLC Preview
On May 8, 2006 UbiSoft announced that the first look of the upcoming DLC package for the Xbox 360 version of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™ would be unveiled exclusively at the Dodge booth at this year’s E3! Gamers that visit the booth will not only get to see the new content but will be offered a chance to play it first-hand!
Although I did not get to attend E3 (we need E4C “Electronic Entertainment Expo East Coast”) I have searched around to find out some info from the show. Several new multi-player maps are supposedly going to be released soon and a few that were shown included Wharf Day, Shipping Port, and Jungle Mines. With a little searching online you can find posted pictures of the map selection screen with these choices.

Shipping Port is “An industrial shipping complex with scattered mixed cover and numerous elevated platforms. A large cargo ship is docked to the north, while the south houses a massive warehouse with multiple sniping positions. Night, suitable for 8-16 players.” Can this map help bring a revival to the “president” style of play that so many of loved on GR and GRIT?
Jungle Mines is listed as “A mining complex set in the jungle of El Salvador. A massive multi-tired structure dominates the central mine, and provides ample access to the many levels of excavation in the surrounding area. Day, suitable for 6-12 players.”
Wharf Day: “Jungle encroaches on coast in this waterfront village, and open forest areas are contrasted by the cluttered wharf built along the shoreline. With access both up onto and below the wharf, tension runs high on this nighttime map. Day, suitable for 6 to 12 players. Yeas, that “nighttime map” comment confuses me too since its listed as a “Day” map.
Christian "Serellan" Allen, Lead Multiplayer Designer of GRAW at UBI posted in a forum that alternate time of day maps (such as Daytime Wharf) will be in addition to new maps and do not count as "new.”
This download cannot come soon enough. I am eagerly anticipating it and all it has to offer.
