Pros: Amazing read. Vividly depicts images. Various perspectives clash throughout. Brutally honest and very philosophical.
Cons: 280 pages overwhelms those interested in less intellectual novels. Translation slightly clumsier than French version.
The Bottom Line: DEFINITELY pick up this one up if you are even a little interested. You won't be disappointed

Review: Camus s work of genius combines multiple tenets of existential philosophy to create a masterpiece that is amazingly deep yet concise as well. The onset of the plague on a Algerian town by the name of Oran causes the townspeople to face the constant...

Pros: Interesting concept...very powerful
Cons: Gets a little slow and confusing in some parts
The Bottom Line: Great book- science-fiction that wonderfully tackles issues of medicine, religion, war, and more. A great read. (I mention specific characters who die of plague- don't say I didn't warn you!)

Review: Well, maybe not literally. But The Plague by Albert Camus is a great book. It was written just after World War II by Camus, and was written as a statement against how the Nazi's oppressed many Europeans during the war. That statement is not...

Pros: thought-provoking with incredible descriptions and symbols, well-developed characters with meaningful contributions to the plot
Cons: some parts are depressing and described with such detail you will smell the plague
The Bottom Line: The Plague explores a town's reaction to crisis. The interactions between the characters open up many philosophical themes. The intense descriptions and biting symbolism make this a great novel.

Review: The novel is set in a small town in Northern Africa during the 1940s and revolves around the plague. The plague is introduced through rats, and there are some grotesque descriptions of the rats dying on the streets. Later the town is quarantined,...

Review: This is one of Camus' more well known works. It is the story of a town that is overcome by a plague and its residents are forced to remain within its walls until the disease has run its course. Once one contracts the plague, buboes grow, and you die...

Pros: This book is very repetitive and boring.
Cons: This book is full of description and is accurate on plagues.
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend reading this due to there being so much unimportant detail that it bores you.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: This book is filled with vivid description of everything going on. There is so much of it that it actually bores you to death. It is like describing everything you would see in your house and then telling of a little event that happened. The story...
