Author's Review
THE LAST TOUR ON EARTH is the album, released in '99, following his world tour, ROCK IS DEAD. Manson puts a lot of time, planning, and energy to his performances. The Last Tour On Earth is almost the same as being there, if you were unfortunate enough to miss his last concert.
A typical Manson concert is quite unpredictable. And, despite popular belief, he doesn't do anything really wrong.. On the inside cover of THE LAST TOUR ON EARTH, there's a picture of Manson being crucified on a cross of televisions.. Which is symbolic for how people spend more time watching TV, than being religious. "God is in the TV".
There's also a small segment where Mr. Manson tears some pages out of the bible. And if you find some controversy in this, remember that he's merely standing up for what he believes. As stated by TWIGGY RAMIREZ*, the bassist for Marilyn Manson, "Christianity, like most religions, works with fear. Sins can be confessed and you are 'clean again'. You can start sinning again without thinking about your old sins", they belive tha people should show responsibility for their actions, and that's one of the reasons they're against Christianity, and most other organized religions. But, let's not get off the subject..
THE LAST TOUR ON EARTH is actually one of my favorite albums. I'm a huge fan of Manson's, and when I can't decide what CD to listen to, I can listen to THE LAST TOUR ON EARTH, because it has a taste of everything. It includes songs from every album previously released. It even includes "Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes", a previously unreleased song. Also one of my personal favorites. If you like Manson in the slightest, The Last Tour on Earth will probably make you even more fond of his music, and him. Be sure to put it on your list of things to buy.. preferably the top.
