lush recording that brings you to a beautiful garden..

Date of Review:  Mar 2, 2005
Review: Tori has yet again brought us back, forward and sideways with the journey of THE BEEKEEPER. From the haunting opening melody of "parasol" to the beatbox beginning of "cars and guitars", it is a lush, honey laden soundscape.
I also think this cd...

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2005
Review: The Beekeeper is some of Tori's best work. My
favorite album from Tori is Boys for Pele and I never
thought anything would rival it, but the Beekeeper
does. From the opening notes of Parasol that are
reminiscent of Crucify to the...

A Magical Musical Experience (Beautiful and Exhausting)

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2005
The Bottom Line: There are a few diamonds in the rough and washed out sounds but the majority of the songs are powerful and truly unique.
Review: The first Tori song I ever heard was God. From that moment on, I've been hooked on Tori's unconventional sounds and powerful lyrics.
Her latest, The Beekeeper, a magical album full of strange characters and interesting sounds is pleasing to say...

Lush, intelligent and important, Tori Amos is still the leader of female singer/songwriters!

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2005
The Bottom Line: This album shows that music can be intelligent, poignant and accessible.
Review: With an impressive back catalogue from 1992's exceptional debut 'Little Earthquakes', 1998's harrowing 'From The Choirgirl Hotel' and 2002's 'Scarlet's Walk', a sonic novel based upon a road trip across the whole of America, one comes to expect alot...

The Beekeeper? Simply 'Bee'tiful!

Date of Review:  Mar 7, 2005
Review: I cannot stop listening to "The Beekeeper".
Every hexagon fits perfectly into this hive of an
album. I love how the songs just flow and interact.

The Power of Boring Songs That Go On for Eleven Days and Nights Each

Date of Review:  Mar 13, 2008
The Bottom Line: ...fell asleep because Adult Contemporary Grandma Tori sucks.
Review: Tori Amos is typically not described as an artist who lacks passion. The North Carolina-born singer/songwriter/prodigy pianist/unconventional 90's alternative female rocker struck a chord with listeners with her opening quartet of albums (1991's...

Honey never tasted (sounded) so sweet...

Date of Review:  Mar 5, 2005
The Bottom Line: When it comes to melodic excelence, Tori Amos is state-of-the-art.
Review: After exploring the vastness of the North American continent with "Scarlet's Walk", Tori Amos now leads us into a much more sheltered corner of her psyche with "The Beekeeper". Here the grandeur of Scarlet's themes, laden with political issues,...

Best Since Choirgirl Hotel

Date of Review:  May 19, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is a mixed bag, but still well worth the effort of sifting through its density. Tori is still gifted; she may be in need of some editing.
Review: INTRODUCTION

This is probably the most schizophrenic album of Tori Amos' career. I think that is why it is alienating some of her long-time fans. Ever since the late 1990's she has seemed engaged in a game of tug-of-war between commercial...

Underwhelmed by the power of orange knickers...or blue..or red...or green.

Date of Review:  Feb 26, 2005
The Bottom Line: It's no little earthquakes but it's still Tori and she still has her moments.
Review: Many years ago I remember an album that effected me like no other of the time and in some ways the way an album never has since. A naked testimonial to the pain and hurt that can accompany being not only a woman but a human being Tori Amos offered...

Finally...

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is Tori's finest work since "Boys for Pele" and its mellowness isn't indicative of a lack of edge, but rather an assured sense of maturity.
Review: Tori Amos has finally crafted an album with all the fierce beauty and passion of "Boys for Pele" and "from the choirgirl hotel" with the accessible sound she (perhaps over-) perfected with 2002's "Scarlet's Walk." The result is a gorgeous opus...
