Great receiver for the money

I chose this as my first receiver based on its price, reviews, and options. It has plenty of analog inputs as well as three digital (1 coax, 2 optical). It remembers your settings for each mode and lets you assign certain devices to different inputs. I was able to program the remote to operate all of my components (though a couple additional buttons would be nice, such as eject, VCR record, etc). Sometimes when listening to an analog source, after a few seconds the volume drops a little, but this can be remedied by just turning the volume up higher. The receiver does a great job of splitting stereo sound among my two receivers and sub. I use this to listen to CDs and watch DVDs with DD/DTS, and haven't been let down once.
