Author's Review
Well... if you read my epinion on the actual tamagotchi toy, you know I speak of it in glowing terms. I have pretty much the same things to say about the gameboy game, but it's missing a very crucial element - it's not a keychain!
Tamagotchi just isn't the same when played on a gameboy, because every time you want to play with or take care of your pet you have to get out your gameboy, turn it on, and check to see how it's doing. It's just not as fun or easy as a keychain. Gone is the portability, the adorable itty-bitty-ness, and the simplicity of being able to slip it in your pocket and take it wherever you go.
Granted, you CAN carry your gameboy around with you if you really feel like it, but you'd have a hard time convincing me that a gameboy is more convenient than a keychain. Gameboy is fine for tetris and other games, but it's just annoying with this one. In short, tamagotchi is a great product. Gameboy is a great product. Together, however, the elemental qualities of Tamagotchi are lost. As long as you can deal with this fact, then I don't deny you'll highly enjoy this adorable digital pet in whatever form (keychain OR gameboy) you purchase it in.
