Best bang for buck

I was sceptical at first when I saw the ionizer infomercials on TV, so instead of buying one from there, I purchased the cheaper XJ 2000 from a seller on eBay.

Contrary to my beliefs, the unit works very well! Within a day of plugging it in and having it run in the "low" mode, I noticed the air in my room was a lot 'fresher'. I've left my window closed for about a month now (my window faces the porch where my roommates smoke), and the air in my room does not smell stale or feel stuffy at all. I also purchased a second unit to install in my basement where my dog sleeps. Before - the air smelled bad and was really stuffy from pet dander and fur, but after having the XJ 2000, the air quality was noticably improved.

I'd recommend this or another ionizer type air filter to everyone. It will improve the air quality in your house and help you breathe better and longer!

Sound - there's barely any noticable sound, the XJ 2000 doesn't use fans, but has sort of a mist type sound, it's very quiet and quite soothing actually.

Settings - There's a high setting (always on) and a low setting where it goes on for I believe 3 minutes and off for 2.

Cleaning - Very easy, simply wipe the metal plates every month, takes about 5-10 minutes.

Update: After using this unit for about a year it is a bit louder than when new. It's still quiet and bearable though, about as loud as a computer with a faint hissing sound.
