Pros: Retro look. Quality fit-and-finish. Includes stainless steel mixing bowls.
Cons: No flexibility with bowl rotation feature. Stiff-working buttons. Man... is this thing LOUD!!!
The Bottom Line: Works well, looks cool... but what's up with all the noise?
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: In my opinion, the best room in the house is the kitchen. My baseline culinary activity begins with twice-a-week bread baking duties, with a cake or pie thrown-in as an occasional tasty treat. The winter months are especially kitchen-oriented due to...

Pros: Overall design
Cons: Tilt mechanism is unwieldy and undependable
The Bottom Line: Forget sentimentality: this modern impostor does not function as intended.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I was ecstatic to find the Heritage design. It is almost identical to the one my mum-in-law received as a wedding gift in 1939, and which has been in use since then, although the stand was misplaced during a move in 1996. The ancient machine is...

Pros: Good price
Cons: Motor won't last.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I bought this to replace my Sunbeam which had lasted 23 years (and I bake all the time!) This version lasted only 14 months.
The beaters are too far from the sides to mix small amounts (like when you start with just the egg yolks before... |

Pros: easy to carry and use, inexpensive
Cons: tilt feature, loudness, features
The Bottom Line: I would only recommend this for a novice baker or someone who does not invest much time into baking because it lacks a lot of features.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This is a great beginner's stand mixer because it has all basic settings and Sunbeam is a trusted name in the world of cooking and baking. I got this after graduating from college to start a baking career but I decided to upgrade this year because...

Pros: Mixes very well on a small scale and saves time
Cons: Bowl too small, slings mix out everywhere and limits recipes you can use
The Bottom Line: Price not bad but the first batch of cookies I found the bowl is too small, mix rides up the whips onto mixer and out of the bowl.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I was given this mixer as an anniversary gift. The mixer dose a very good job of mixing, the speeds are very versatile (you can choose the exact speed you want) and fairly easy to clean. Unless you are mixing a very small cookie, cake or bread...

Pros: Excellent time saver, when preparing for parties.
Cons: turntable motor failed after ten uses. Parts are on back order for two months.

Review: I bought this product because it was a very attractive product and the fact that Sunbeam carries a very good reputation for craftsmanship and service. Additionally, the price was very attractive.

Pros: Very heavy duty; space to add ingredients while mixing, rotating bowl; shifting bowl stand.
Cons: Can't rotate bowl backwards, tilt release sometimes hard to work.
The Bottom Line: If you're a serious baker who is looking for a heavy duty mixer that will last a generation or two, this is for you.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I learned to cook on a true vintage Sunbeam Mix Master - my mother's model from the 1950's. I grew up with it and when I got my first job in the early 1970's I bought my own stainless Mix Master. It was my first purchase for my "hope chest".

Cons: Doesn't come with paddles for stiffer batters and dough.

Review: Bought my husband (who is the baker in my family) the Sunbeam mixer for Christmas. He really likes the design and functionality of it. Bowl slides to the outside for scraping and adding ingredients. He likes the many speed options, and two different...

Pros: stylish, fast, durable, easy to clean. easy to use
Cons: heavy, buttons hard to push, head hard to raise up
The Bottom Line: Buy it for your average baker, but not for someone who is baking weekly or more.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This standing mixer was a Christmas gift to be two years ago. I haven't used it for heavy duty baking and it is still in good condition. I liked the many settings though they don't seem to be adequately named. If a recipe says to "cream" something...

Pros: Fantastically easy to use, rotating bowl is great, powerful, loved the wheel to adjust speed
Cons: Dangerous design--screw in each beater can come apart

Review: I chose Sunbeam over Kitchen Aid b/c of the price and superb ease of use. It has great features including the dial to adjust speed and the rotating bowl....which I LOVE. However, only after 4 uses of ordinary ingredients (cake batters) the screw...
