A Decent Game, Not for the Easily Frustrated.
Pros:
sweet stunts, good graphics, not having to do this stuff for real
Cons:
long load times, stupid "stunt arena" stunts, trailers suck
The Bottom Line:
Try it for the chance to do some crazy stuff without getting hurt!

What is Stuntman? Possibly the most frustrating/hard/rewarding/crazy game you will ever play.
Gameplay:
This is probably the most important aspect of a game. I got mixed reactions to Stuntman in this department. Despite what others say, I never really had a problem with the controls. The cars were possibly a little quick to fish tail, but other than that, I found it was pretty much what I would expect.
The game is frustrating. If you are easily frustrated DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT play this game!!! You will probably end up throwing your whole PS2 through the TV. The game is unfortunate in that, if you do one little thing wrong and want to fix it, you must start the stunt all over again. This might not sound that bad except most of the stunts are really long and contain some pretty hard stuff.
Which brings me to my next problem: the stunts. Well, most of the stunts are not a problem, they are incredible (more later) but there are some that just defy common sense. These include driving off the good driving line to smash boxes, trash cans or other stuff; driving under a ladder for no particular reason; and swerving around cars.
Most of the stunts I found to be cool, like driving off a jump through a chimney, or under a falling chimney, or off a building, or dodging missiles. These are pretty cool stunts and when you watch the replay they look really cool.
The replays are by far the best part of the game. When you have finally completed the hardest stunt and finish, you can watch the replay with great cinematic angles. It looks just like a movie chase scene: really cool! Nail every stunt and your replay looks incredible.
I also wish that they would change the way you are directed to do the stunts. As it stands, you drive through the city with little arrows telling you where to go. The is all fine except that when you are going really fast, you need to know where to go. Letting you drive the route, or see a demo of what to do beforehand would make this problem go away.
I also wish they would show more of your stunts in the trailers.
Graphics:
The graphics are kind of boxy, but all in all, I think they are some of the best I have seen. The damage and other special effects are very well done and things look pretty much like they should look. The explosions are also really cool. I guess the best thing I can say is that they don't add or detract from the game in any way.
Sound:
The only really sound you can hear is ambient noise, and the director. The director is fine, but after the 30th (about average I would say) time doing a stunt, his voice became really annoying! We finally resorted to making fun of his voice to keep from going insane.
Overall:
I kept playing this game because at the end, it is worth it to watch you perform crazy stunts in a very well done replay. And it is just plain fun, but please stay away if you think you will be frustrated: This game is NOT for you.
