Good headpone-fair price

Date of Review: Dec 21, 2000

I tried several other competitive headphones prior to buying the Sony
MDR-V600 model. They were a lot better than the Koss a-130's (a most uncomfortable set-that irritated my ears).
I used the Sony set with the following equipment: A Sony 100w x 5 home entertainment amp., and a Yamaha Compact Component System (YST C-10) putting out about 30 watts. Phones worked very well with both of them, but definitely require power to and quality amps to perform at their best.
But what the heck do you expect? They're digital monitors. Not toy phones!
I use the phones primarily for classical and jazz listening both FM, Tape, and Phono records (you remember those, don't you?)

Sound is great. Weight is perfect. Durable as well (as was my last pair of Sony phones that lasted 10 yrs.) If you want quality, and you have a quality amp., these are the lowest priced quality phones you will get.

Soooo, go get 'em.
