Pros:
Good feel 10X Optical Zoom

The Bottom Line:
We liked the feel and features of this camera. Unfortunately both the defect and tech support cast Dark Shadows.

Author's Review
There are a lot of reasons why we purchased this camera, the Sony cyber-shot DSC-H10, after trying many others.
My wife and I have always enjoyed taking photographs with point and shoot cameras and 35mm SLRs. In the past four years or so we delved into the realm of digital after I was given one as a gift from the good people at Epinions.com one holiday season.
Recently my wife and I were shopping together and found this camera the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10. We purchased a less expensive Sony Cyber-shot last year and have been happy with its images. After a few months using a Fuji FinePix S1000FD digital camera that I purchased for my wife for Christmas, we returned it because it was a bit more complicated using it than she first bargained for. She has little patience when it comes to changing from one format to another and the Fuji just wasn't intuitive enough. Personally I liked it but she is generally the prime user of whatever our newest camera is. I get her previous camera.
This camera, when we first studied and opened it seemed quite simple. There were far fewer knobs and steps to get from one function to the next. That pleased my wife.
The 8.1 Mega pixels was good enough and the 10x optical zoom was excellent! The camera had the features and the feel we both were comfortable with.
We were excited about a quick picture setting where we could snap three shots quickly one right after the other. Never got to try it.
Using the camera was simple and the images were quite clear. She was especially pleased with the macro settings.
Unfortunately the camera has a dark shadow that shows in the viewfinder. The horizontal shadow is also captured in each and every image.
I tried calling their technical support and after long hour of trying to get through, I was told they couldn't do anything and gave me an address to send the camera to and they would check it out and repair any problem.
Sorry, It's going right back to the store where we purchased it and after the service I received, I doubt we will be looking at this model, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Digital camera, again. I was hoping for a few things to try out and not be given the run around that we should send the camera to be repaired or replaced.
There's only so much I could share in this brief review of a camera that I really didn't use all that much.
