An amazing tool

First off, wow! This remote control is a Godsend in a day and age where the typical television set-up includes a VCR, DVD, DVR, receiver, satellite/cable, and what ever other concoctions those amazing engineers think up.

First off, the retail price can be a little steep, but check out eBay to get the item at about 50% of the retail value.

Programming the remote is not difficult. The remote comes with excellent, easy to follow instructions. This is even easy for non-electronic people to use (like my parents - they loved being able to consolidate from 6 remotes to 1 remote)

This remote learns off of your other remote controls, so it learns the buttons you most often use. Unlike other Universal remote controls, this one works!! (my cheap universal remote control worked for TV & VCR, but only some of the receiver & DVD functions worked; in addition the old universal remote often had to be reprogrammed).

The only con is that on two separate occasions, the remote stopped working in the middle of being used. It was easy to fix (took the batteries out and put the same ones back in immediately), but it was a little unnerving. Another possible cause of the problem may have been that a button got pressed too much and the remote went into some weird mode and needed to be reset, but not reprogrammed!

Overall I cannot sing the praises of this product enough. If you have more than a TV & VCR, this is a must!
