Great Air Purifier - Sharp FP-P60CX

This a fabulous air filter. I had read that this was the best filter about 4 years ago, maybe in the NY Times and that the filter only needed to be changed every 5 years. I bought a refurbished model on eBay for about $230 about 3 and a half years go. So far it has not disappointed. I leave it on all the time and in runs quietly in the background. On the auto setting it detects dust and odors and automatically switches to a higher fan speed. I have noticed my allergies drop have less breathing problems at night. It is very easy to clean and I have not paid a penny in additional filters. A "clean filter" light comes on when the first part of the 3 part filter gets clogged with coarse dust and hair. At that point I remove the filter, - very easy to do - some very smart consumer conscious engineering by Sharp - vacuum the coarse filter and the surface of the activated charcoal bag put it back together - very easy to do - and pop it back in Sharp hit the reset button. The front panel is very easy to pop on and off. It is recommended you wash the carbon bag every year in light dish washing solution, but I have not seen the need to as yet. Uses ionized air to improve air cleaning and has a pollen setting that works. Has a great handy and useful remote.
