SanDisk e250
I have had this player about 3 months and have not had a problem!
I decided to get an mp3 player to use while sewing and doing exercising. I was originally looking at a Creative model but the SanDisk was on sale and had some features that I really liked.
THE PLAYER ITSELF:
The players is 3 1/2" by 1.73" and only .49" thick. I wasn't sure I would like the small size but it has a nice heavy weight to it, feels well made and a quality product. I did buy a protective cover to keep the player safe but it feels very solid and strong that I am comfortable using it and not have to be super careful. The buttons are great. I like them. Once you learn their use you can navigate easily and quickly through song lists, modes and features. The nice blue glow in the dial is a cool addition too. I find that the player fits great in my hand, I have large hands and am able to use the buttons without trouble. The voice recorder button is located on the side and is convenient to use. The headphones are comfortable ear bud style and the length of cord is generous. The connection cable locks in the bottom of the player and is how you charge the player. The only thing I don't like is that you need to use the connection cable to charge the player and it must be a new USB version port in order to get a full charge. My USB port is the right version but I can imagine there are lots of people who don't and it would be great to charge with an A/C cord.
THE FEATURES:
1. Plays music, photos and video clips! I have a few of my favorite photos loaded and it is nice to show family and friends and to be able to download the photos in other computers or vise versa by loading my friends photos too. I have not used the video clip feature yet but do plan on trying that out in the future. I am eclectic in my music and have over 200 songs loaded plus have so much space left over. I did purchase a 1 gig card to expand the storage space to 3 gig.
2. FM Tuner! I love this feature especially if you're not in the mood for your music you can switch to radio. Also in emergency situations I have a radio ready since we are prone to strong storms and flooding in my area. I keep my player handy and have the local stations preset so I am able to keep abreast of any news. The stations come in clear and easy to navigate.
3. Voice Recorder! The Sansa e250 has an integrated voice recorder with built-in microphone. Wasn't sure if I would use that feature but found it very helpful. I can record ideas, notes and reminders quickly with one push of the button.
4. Expandable microSD slot! I have already purchased a 1 gig microSD card and have added it to the player. Very easy to expand space, just slide in card and you are ready to go.
5. Preset Equilizer settings! The preset Eq's are nice, I use normal setting most of the time but when I do listen to classical I switch to the classical setting and it does a great job with the tone quality and sound quality. It is very quick to switch EQ settings just about 2 clicks of the buttons and you are there.
6. Included Software. I currently use Windows Media to transfer my songs but do use the media manager software that came with the player for adding photos. It compresses them to the right size for your player. I had no trouble loading the software and was up and running in just a few minutes.
7. Long Battery Life. That is a fact! I have not run out of battery power yet in the three months I have been using the player. Granted I am not using it every day and all day long but I have been using it quite a bit. I even bought speakers to use the player as a stereo in my kitchen and play it when I am cooking. Still have battery life. I have only gone down about a quarter of battery power. They say you have up to 20 hours battery life playing continuously and I agree with their statement. Very Cool! The only problem I do have is that to charge the player you must use your USB port on your computer and also the USB port must be the latest and greatest version or you won't get a full charge.
OVERALL OPINION
I already have recommended this player to my friends. I let one of my friends try it out without telling her how the buttons work and within a minute she knew what she was doing and decided to get one right away! The SanDisk e250 is easy to use, sleek and elegant and plays great. Being expandable make it a great choice for those who music library is ever growing. I carry photos of my family and I get ohh's and awe's when I show others my pictures on the player. You can even have music playing in a slide show format too! Being so easy to use makes the SanDisk fit nicely in your life and doesn't become a chore to use.
