Clear Grip Door Knob Covers - challenging even for parents

We purchased these Safety 1st door knob covers about 3 months ago when our child began trying to open various doors throughout our home. We looked at several brands but decided on this brand since it is so well known for its durability and dependability with child safety.

We purchased several packs of the door knob covers from different locations. We have purchased them from Wal-Mart and from Babies R Us and the prices varied depending on the store but never paid more than $5.00 a pack.

We are still using the original door knob covers purchased 3 months ago despite our toddlers constant spinning, turning and pulling on - they have maintained a like new status. They are very easy to clean with a wet washcloth or something like a Clorox wipe.

While I am still mostly pleased with this product the cons are that they are somewhat difficult to attach to certain knobs. The packaging shows "proper installation" and even though we followed those instructions, there were times when the two sides did not seem to line up and we ended up having to force them together. The other con, while serving it's purpose, is that my husband and I sometimes have difficulty opening doors ourselves. If you do not grasp the knob and cause proper traction/grip on the knob, the cover will just spin and not open the door. I'm sure this is a safety feature that was developed to further prevent toddlers/children (and in our case parents) from easily opening doors.

I would still highly recommend this product or similar product by Safety 1st.
