Avoid This Model
Pros:
Good, uniform cuts. Easy to dispose of without pieces flying everywhere.
Cons:
Cannot handle maximum page load. Danger of short life. Difficult customer service reps.
The Bottom Line:
Find a different manufacturer. The lower price is no savings when compared to performance, durability and integrity of customer service.

Author's Review
We had two shredders of this type and brand. The first unit burned out nine months after purchase and replaced by Royal.
The first unit was repaired under the manufacturer's warranty after three months use and finally quit completely. When I called Royal to explain my frustration, I received a surly, defensive response. Only after I informed the woman at Royal that I would take the matter further, did she offer a replacement unit.
The replacement arrived quickly, but didn't perform long. We have purchased a third shredder in two years. This, too, is a Royal, and will be reviewed elsewhere.
While the shredder worked, it cut well, but could not handle the maximum number of sheets advertised. We used no more than three pages at a time. Even then, the machine frequently jammed. I believe this overtaxed the motor and led to the short life of the shredder.
Before you buy this brand, find out where your local service center is located. We live near one of the few Royal-only shops, so warranty work was fairly easy.
Avoid overuse. The number of daily cycles should be written on the box. The word "cycle" means the number of times you shred, whether it's one page or the maximum load.
Stay closer to the lower end and don't try to push the alleged maximum number of pages through.
Hint: Invest in shredder oil. A drop of this stuff--follow the directions on the shredder oil bottle--extends the life of the blades and keeps them sharp. Don't ask me how..but it does.
