Author's Review

I never really knew much about Counting Crows except that they had a decent song called Long December. I'm shocked I didn't pick up on them much earlier than what I did. I heard from a friend that this was a good cd. I was planning on picking up Desert Life since that was the only cd with a song I knew. But I chose this one instead. And I'm happy about that decision.

The songs are a little slow, but are very emotionally presented. I may never know a single thing that any of the songs mean, but I can tell just by hearing it in the singer's voice. References to certain people, places, or things pop up in each song. Somehow this make me like the cd. It's not like they sing about the same things every song, yet each song is connected to one another by a person, or a color, or some other way.

Desert Life is also a good cd, but I prefer this one. The songs seem more emotional, though they both have quite a few catchy tunes. Definitely check this cd out if you liked Long December. Perhaps you'll grow a liking to it even if you weren't too impressed with Long December.
