Remote Control Dependency

The RSQ NEO-E500 Multiformat Player is convenient in that this single device supports many formats. However, the problem with the RSQ NEO-E500 Multiformat Player is that the remote control is not robust and front panel does not support all functions. Therefore, without the remote, you cannot use menu function on DVD movies and other highly valued control functions are lost. Want captions or scene selection? Too bad the remote controller does work so you will have to do without!

I have had remote controls that still work fine after over 10 years with only an occasional battery replacement needed. With this system, I have had two remote controls spontaneous stop working in the last year although the batteries are fine. To add to the frustration, the replacement remote costs about 25% of the new purchase price for the whole system. Also, because the product is not widely popular, none of the universal remotes on the market support functionality for this system.
