A must for cordless phone calls !!

This phone is just great. I bought one over a year
ago and it works just fine. I also bought another
one last Christmas, and it works just fine. In a previous
review, I also had a Toshiba 2.4 DSS phone too.
However this GE phone is better!!!

The range is truly remarkable. Range is limited by
obstructions, but the range is more than satisfactory.
Wayyyy down the street, 500ft and it works fine.
The voice clarity at both ends of the call is
wonderful, no low volume or tinny or muffled sound.
It has volume control buttons for hearing the other
party. Each step is louder with no "too" loud steps!
I like the DSS scrambling feature. This makes your
phone calls totally private to scumbags using
scanners. The battery life when you leave the phone off
the hook is about two days. The quality of the rechargeable
batteries is very good. I like the design of this
phone as it feels good in your hands, easy to hold
and has the feel of a conventional corded phone. It also
has a headset jack and comes with a belt clip for
hands free use. The lighted keypad is also nice.

One problem I have had with the phone is
the mic hole got plugged, however its an easy fix.

Another review mentions that the phone in the base
doesn't stand straight up (for desk mounted positions). This really is not a problem, in fact I feel the opposite. It just seems that those phones that stand up can be knocked over easily. The effort to get the phone from the base is minimal. Also the base can be mounted on the wall. The wall mounted base leaves the phone at the right angle when on the wall mounted base. I have never had any problems of the phone falling off the base in the wall mounted position.

I payed about $30 each for both phones at the local
OfficeMax. The second phone I bought included caller
ID for the same price as the first. Need a great
inexpensive 2.4 DSS phone???? Look no further than
this GE!!!!!

If ya can't find this phone, try another GE....
Keep an eye out for clearences and the OfficeMax ads in
your local paper...
