Sharp Carousel Microwave
Date of Review: Aug 15, 2005
The Bottom Line: Ok Microwave and I don't have many problems with it. Has not broken down/though some features could be better.
I have the Sharp Carousel Microwave which I received as a gift for Christmas from my Mom/Dad. It's Black, has a spinning interior plate, is 2 Cu FT. and 1200 watts. It does not have a convection oven which personally is not important to me, but may be to others
The only 2 things I have found I don't care for at the time is the size/defrost feature. It's a little bigger than I'd care for in my small kitchen. The defrosting button is easy because you can push either boneless poultry, steaks/chops, ground meat, or bone in poultry. The thing that doesn't work for me is after about 1 minute of defrost the microwave stops, beeps and says please rotate. Because of this stopping feature you have to continually press the start button and this I find irritating as it doesn't just continuously defrost, you have to be present. I'm not sure if there's another way, if you decide to buy this model I'd ask about this as maybe I just don't know the way to fix this problem. Anyway, this is what irritates me about the microwave and since I'm extremely busy with many children...it's hard to have to be there constantly pressing start to defrost something.
What I do like about the microwave is that it's easy clean. The plate lifts right out & cleans easily. It never seems to get as dirty as my other microwaves would. It also has different power levels which are really easy to use. It has a popcorn setting, a casserole setting, a dinner plate setting, and a roll section. Another easy feature is if you press start it automatically cooks for 1 minute. If you press it twice, it cooks for 2 minutes and so on. This is really convenient.
The microwave is ok looking as the frontdoor is black & back/body is brown (trying to look wood-like) color. It's modern but a little too big as I mentioned before. The door opens easily with a push button/pop open feature. Occasionally it gets stuck and is hard to open.
