Tastes like rum candy

Pros: The purest, most intense rum flavor of any rum I've tried

Cons: So delicious that it is easy to overimbibe. Remember it IS 80 proof liquor.

During a trip to Las Vegas, I stopped by the Rum Jungle bar within the Mandalay Bay hotel. They have 300 different rums stocked and ready for you to sample, and the Pyrats XO Reserve was recommended by the bartender. With one whiff, one taste, this liquor screams rum. It is the intense taste and smell you would find in the finest Christmas rum candy. Other rums, though far more expensive, tasted more like aged cognacs or whiskeys. Pyrats XO Reserve has the richest, maple syrup rum candy/amaretto like smoothness that is the epitomy of what one thinks of when rum is mentioned. Hints of vanilla are present also. Too good to use as a mixer, this rum of rums is best on the rocks neat with a glass of Coke or Pepsi to swill between sips.
