Phillips dvp 3140 DVD player

Great cheap DIV X ,all region , any disk type player. Good audio outs for use as a cd player , or for MP3/WMA on a DVD, etc.

I bought it as a back up to play DivX videos, now it is also my primary CD music player since it has no problem with any format disk I burn. It will play Div X movie compilations on DVD+ disks I use on my video recorder. No other other DVD player I tried will play these.

Bought at Best Buy -on line store pick up is really the lowest price since they give us additional discount when we use it. There is only a component 3 wire video output, digital / coaxial output for old TV's but no S video or HDMI. IF you want these for a Plasma that uses HDMI you will not want such a cheap unit anyway. Be warned that HDMI cables may block any DivX or not copyrighted material and you will only be able to play store bought local region DVD's and CD's.

I use this on top of my old Marantz Amp to play my MP3, MP4 music files using the audio outs. It's low profile fits right in and it's chrome finish matching the Amp's brushed aluminum. This lets me enjoy music videos like "Hell Freezes Over" in glorious stereo to rock the house. The Video line can go to my DLP projector and now I have the best of both worlds - Powerful Vintage Stereo Sound and modern video on a six foot screen.
