Product Review

I like my Pentax ZX-60, but am frustrated by its limitations and problems

by   jawi78 ,   Mar 25, 2005

Pros:  It is lightweight, easy to load, and takes adequate pictures

Cons:  The controls are awkward to use, and the pictures aren't always clear.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Author's Review

I do like my Pentax ZX-60, but am also disappointed in it's overall performance in the two years that I have had it. It has possibilities, but I usually end up feeling frustrated by it's limitations and awkwardness. It isn't as easy to use as I thought it would be (it was advertised as being perfect for those new to SLR's). It is difficult to change functions, or turn off the flash....the time I spend fiddling with it usually costs me that "perfect shot". Maybe I am not using the best lens or something, but alot of times I try to take a picture, and the auto focus just goes haywire, refusing to snap the shot, so I have to change to manual focus to take the photo. It is already difficult enough to capture my four rambunctious sons without having to go through all that! Probably the biggest disappointment, though, is when I develop the film and find that pictures I thought would be great are not even as clear or vivid as my mom's $70 point and shoot camera! I have also had to take the camera to be repaired twice in two years.
