Beware of locking and audio sync issues

Now, after using it for3 months, I have some serious issues.
I first noticed some sync issues when using the Time Slip feature.
Here is what happens. You have something recorded and you start recording something else. While that is recording you watch the previous recording. This works fine and is one of the perks if a DVD over a VCR however...when you watch the new recording sometimes, but not always, the audio is not synced with the video. So watching peoples mouths move is like watching a Godzilla movie. It can be really annoying and distracting.
I also had a few times when the unit locked. You have to press and hold the power button on the unit (not remote) for 10 seconds to unlock it.
One time it locked and wiped out a protected recording I had on a DVD-RAM disc.
That was enough so I returned that unit.
I am on my second unti now. Have had this one about 2 months. Same issues, but this one locks even more.
Sometimes it will lock when you try to play a recording. Other times, and this is the worst, it will lock while recording.
I missed the 2nd half of a recent episode of 24 because of this.
Just this week I missed an entire NBA game and a new episode of Lost because the unit locked.
I can no longer trust the unit to record for me.
I am giving this a low rating to balance my previous, and unwarranted, high rating.
BTW
I generally buy Panasonic and have had good luck with their products in the past.
