These clip-on headphones allow you to listen to music or other audio without having to deal with a headband as you would with traditional headphones. That makes them great if you are wearing a hat or something else on your head. The lack of headband also keeps the packing size small, so it's easy to drop the headphones in your bag or pocket. So while clip-on headphones are great, are these particular headphones a good example of the genre?
These headphones sound OK, but are surprisingly quiet, almost maxing out the volume on my MP3 player just to play music at a comfortable level in a semi-quite room. Forget listening on the bus, etc. I think this might be a product of the XBS extra base feature, (which you cannot turn off). I couldn't tell that the headphones had extra base, to be truthful, however.
The ergonomics are worse than the sound; the headphone cable is shorter for one side than the other, making for very awkward handling, esp if the cable gets snarled. The lopsided cable also means that all the weight of the phones drags on one ear.
The clips feel OK, at least, though they do a poor job of keeping the headphones on your ears.
In the end the whole experience wasn't worth the $8 I paid.
