Product Review

Poor Mechanics & Service

by   chuckup ,   Sep 17, 2007

Pros:  Cordless phone, caller ID window on phone, few more faxes per film than earlier models.

Cons:  Mechanically a failure; service is available on your credit card starting at $2.50 a minute.

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Author's Review

This is my third Panasonic fax machine, all different models. I should have learned from the first two which eventually went bad. My problem: When you insert a new ink film, the screen says "check film" or "door open." Hey, I'm no dummy when it comes to changing film and I've changed this one at least 20 times before. I've had this problem a few times but it always seemed to go away. When these error messages come up you are ready to pull your hair out, are SOL and might as well throw the machine away! Another $150.00 down the drain. I called Panasonic and since it is out of warranty by a few months, the girl said it would probably cost more to fix it than buying a new one!
DO NOT BUY A PANASONIC IF YOU NEED TO COUNT ON IT FOR A HOME BUSINESS! Now I'm ready to find one that is highly rated and hopefully works for a while.
