Pros: use my existing Nikon 70-300 mm lens
Cons: shutter lag of one or two seconds
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I bought my D70 about three months ago. I have yet to read the manual completely. I have used the camera to photograph cross-country skiing, a bicycle road race, and outdoor scenes. This past weekend I "tried" to do some flash photos but had some...

Pros: everything, from price to usability, and there is a free photography course
Cons: all the software they give you is trial version :(
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it unless you are a real photography enthusiast and are capable of exploring all the possibilities of a real reflex camera, in that case you will be surprised.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I like to have as much control as possible on my photographs, this is why I've always used 35mm reflex cameras with interchangeable lenses. Until now the problem was that a decent digital true SLR was very expensive (and was a Canon). This set gives...

Pros: Great camera. It's NOT plastic, it's POLYCARBONATE! This camera grows with you.
Cons: NO REAL CONS.
The Bottom Line: -see my review. Definitely BUY IT! Great for the advanced amateur or professional. I use it for Portraiture and weddings.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I got the D70 late last year in '04. LUV this camera. I've used my old lenses from my Nikon FE and they work fine -just remember to set the focus switch to manual mode. Exposure won't work with these lenses but this isn't really a problem -you can...

Pros: Quick shutter speed allows action shots with a digital camera; great picture quality
Cons: Cost (~$900) and bulk Lens cap not attached and easily lost
The Bottom Line: This is a great camera for almost every occasion; it is versatile and the picture quality great
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I am an amateur photographer and also do dog training; I've been taking digital photos of my dogs for a while and have gotten really tired of the typical delay when pushing the shutter button (not to mention the number of "fantastic" photos I've...

Pros: Very fast, solid build quality, excellent image quality, and very good battery life
Cons: Images slightly soft at default settings and No USB 2.0
The Bottom Line: The Bottom Line: The new Nikon D70s -- If it ain?t broke ya? don?t need to fix it
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Canon s EOS D350/Digital Rebel XT was a revolutionary re-design of the original Rebel, but Nikon s new D70s is more an evolutionary update of the dLSR that POPULAR PHOTOGRAPHY magazine chose as it s CAMERA OF THE YEAR in 2004. At first...

Pros: Nikon lens compatibility a big plus
Cons: Nothing glaring
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Just an addendum to a previous comment on using non auto-focus Nikon lenses. After experimenting with my 55mm Nikkor micro, I tried my 24mm f2.8 that I thought would have to shelve for use in the Nikon d70s, based upon feedback received to the...

Pros: Nicely balanced, handles great, images are stunning.
Cons: Menu selections are buried, but this is not a deal breaker, folks!
The Bottom Line: GREAT balance, comfortable handling, stunning images.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This is a nearly perfect digital SLR -- for those who've used Nikon 35MM SLR gear in the past, it handles and fits like a GLOVE.
Your old AF Nikkor lenses will mate perfectly with the onboard electronics. The new G lenses (like the zoom... |

Pros: Nikon. Digital. Well built. 3 years of quality pics!
Cons: Remembering to reset the ISO after speeding it up.
The Bottom Line: Go for the name brand for once in your life, and enjoy the choice. Buy the Nikon and enjoy the rush! It really is worth it!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I had the N80 - but couldn't remember how I got the nice pics between when I shot them, and when I got them developed. Dropped a G on the D70 because my old lens were compatible. WOW! If your spouse complains - tough! Buy it - It's great - Shoot,...

Pros: Fast response. Excellent flash system.
Cons: Kit lens OK, but light loss in the corners in wide angle setting.
The Bottom Line: Most versatile camera. Fun to use. Leaves no photographic wishes unanswered.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The other reviews pretty much covered the technical specifications of this camera, so I am not going to bother reviewing those. I am not much of a numbers person anyway -- creativity is more my thing when it comes to photography.
I have used... |

Pros: Immediate on, fantastic shutter speed, max ISO 1600, great sensor, fast autofocus,
Cons: None from me.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I finally upgraded to this entry-level digital slr and I am very glad I chose Nikon.
This camera can do it all. Sure it's got auto-mode but this baby is for those who want control. You can control aperture, shutter speed, or both in manual. You... |
