Pros: Excellent value, great results.
Cons: 1.5 lens factor, RAW + jpg mode. I would like to have RAW only.
The Bottom Line: For the price and features Highly recommended.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: First I must explain that I have resisted switching from film cameras to digital for many years. Yes I own a digital point and shoot, I guess everyone does, but as a working pro my Nikon F3, F5 and my medium format cameras have been my mainstay. I...

This review will be edited and re-edited over time as I become use to, and learn more about the D70s. I purchased the camera / lens combination - but this review will apply to the body only variant as well. BODY:... |

Review: Wow - I have been shooing with Nikon cameras since the Nikon FE was introduced and have always been very impressed with the Nikon's cameras and lenses. Now that I have moved beyond 35mm film cameras and am embracing digital SLR cameras, it made...

Review: I recently purchased a new Nikon D70 SLR Kit that included the 18-70mm DX lens. It has been many years since I used a 35mm SLR since I converted to digital back when 2 mg pixel cameras hit the market. I feel as if I have grown up with the digital...

Review: I have owned a Sony DSC-V1 for a number of years, and decided to move into the digital SLR world around September 2005.
In the end, my choice came down to either the Canon EOS 20D, or the Nikon D70s. Resolution aside, the Nikon FELT like a... |

Pros: Awesome pictures, huge number of Nikon and 3rd party lens ready to go.
Cons: A bit on the heavy side, large body may be too big for smaller hands.

Review: If you have been waiting for the right time to get a semi pro level digital SLR for around $1k, the time is now. I did extensive testing between both the Canon Rebel XT and the D70s and while both deliver on their promise, the \Nikon's standard lens...

Pros: Semi-Pro machine. A nikon. Kit Lens is very good. Very Sharp
Cons: Can be faster.. and the 1.6x factor makes the wide lenses narrower
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I've been using this camera for about 2 years now.. I'm very happy with its performance.. though there's now faster and better cameras, I don't think to move to another one unless I earn money from it. The 18-70mm kit lens is very nice for a kit...

Pros: Versatile, flexible, part of a huge system, excellent quality.
Cons: Not as rugged as metal Nikons. Can't meter with non-AF Nikkors.
The Bottom Line: Perfect choice for the experienced amateur or pro looking for their first digital SLR.

Review: I owned a total of six digital cameras before purchasing my D70, ranging from an execrable little Agfa that drained a pair of AAs to produce a dozen terrible VGA shots thorugh a Canon G2 that was a pleasure to use. The Canon was pretty good, with...

Pros: It has little shutter lag time. I get great shots with a flash.
Cons: Poor autofocus, no manual focus assist grid, indistinct, uninteresting results.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I have owned this camera for about two years, and it has been a source of frustration from the beginning. I used to be a pretty good photographer with my Nikon FE2 film camera. I'm glad I kept it. With the D70 I find my results to be unpredictable...

Review: If you are the type of person who only uses their digital camera for snap shots, this camera is NOT for you. If, however, you are the type of photographer would like to exercise complete control of your photo taking in a digital format, you'll love...
