Pros: excellent value for money - solid build
Cons: dust on the sensor - but that's a con for all digital SLR's
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I bought a D200 about 6 months ago and it was my first leap into the digital SLR. After initial disappointment with image quality (I had previously been using medium format equipment) I took the time to learn about RAW conversion and digital imaging...

Review: Overall, the camera is a great buy at a great price. The features of the D200 are quite amazing and superb build. Great upgrade from other Nikon cameras with professional feel. Body has a nice strong feeling and has great fitment for my hands. I...

Pros: D2x D.N.A. Strong body build, features. Great for the rough and tumble photo beings.
Cons: Expensive, heavy for some,D80 weakens the D200s case.
The Bottom Line: A camera of the times. 2005 sweetheart. 2006 has another sweetheart, the D80.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Everyone has very well documented the features and performance of the D200 beautifully, so hopefully I will not repeat too many observations here.
I own the Nikon D70s as well, and have a basic compliment of lenses. The 70mm to 300mm and... |

Pros: Sharpest pictures ever
Cons: Autofocus
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This is a great camera that will deliver super sharp images . . . unless you use autofocus. I've given the autofocus every chance. It simply does not work. I've assumed it was a software shortcoming but I don't know that. The answer is, of course,...

Pros: Good Feel, fast reaction and huge buffer. Menus logical Quiet and responsive camera.
Cons: Soft Focus make it difficult to get a nice image
The Bottom Line: Test this camera in your hand before buying it. Soft focus problem in not in all D200's but with so many threads and posts why chance it?
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I purchased the D200 with the 18-200 combo in October of 2006. I started shooting with the enthusiasm that comes with new equipment however I was feeling disappointed with the results. It seemed that even in daylight conditions I was getting soft...

Pros: Magnesium body
Pro features Size Cons: No sensor for ML-L3
The Bottom Line: This may be "old" technology, but with the price coming down to $600 (from likr $1600), it's well worth it.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I've been jonsin' for the D200 for about a year, and finally got one. At $600, the price was right.
This won't be a technical review; it's a user review, because I'm no technician. You want specs, go to dpreview.com. This is my fourth... |

Pros: Matrix metering, smart ergonomics, superior image quality to the D70
Cons: Poor value, non-pro warranty autofocus not pro level, camera confused in demanding situations.
The Bottom Line: Stick with your D70, or get the D2X
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: Like most people here I wrote a a glowing review when I had first purchased the D200. This can be a poor time to write because people can be hypnotized by an expensive new toy.
Over a period of six months I have changed my opinion about... |

Pros: Easy to use; large viewing screen; one of the best viewfinders.
Cons: Initial bobble with the shutter problem.
The Bottom Line: Get it! If you have a D1X at twice the price, dump it and get this.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I definitely think Nikon has a winner here. Originally I was going to get a D70s but when I heard about the D200, I waited. I'm glad I did....well, based on four days of use.
I placed my D200 on order in mid February. I was immediately... |

Pros: Solid but not too heavy, excellent ergonomics, smart design
Cons: The flash sync and remote socket protection caps fall off too easily.
The Bottom Line: I have recommended this camera to several other buyers and they all report back that they are well pleased with the D200.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The D200 fits into the Nikon range between the professional D2 and the consumer models (D50, D70 etc.). It provides good value for money and a solid, reliable basis for digital photography. The ergonomics are excellent and attention to detail is...
