Pros: good battery life, great outdoor shots
Cons: terrible studio shots, blurry images, closeup shots are blurry and poor.

Review: I would recommend this camera for bird watchers, sports enthusiasts, well, anything outdoors. I'm a graphic designer and I purchased the camera knowing that it's predecessor got high marks in multiple categories. I was excited to use the camera in a...

Cons: ear buds wires tangle easily;

Review: I bought this to listen to downloaded audio books. Controls are intuitive and friendly; you hardly have to read the manual. Lots of equalizer settings to get just the right tonal quality. Easy to use, right out of the box. Good battery life.

Pros: Amazing 51-point 3D autofocus function!
Cons: None actually. Wishlist: Will be great if its full-frame at the same cost!

Review: For those considering upgrading to the D300 from either the D80 or D200, there's one feature that will win you over: the 51 point 3D autofocus. With it you can lock-on your focus on moving subjects in a way that was never possible before. I was able...

Pros: Viewfinder, photo quality: focus quality; continuous mode; color; new menu system; boot-up speed
Cons: Still spendy, but no design flaws observed
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This camera is a huge upgrade from the D100! The colors are better and the menus include fewer, more cognitive pre-sets. The 51 point focusing is much more reliable than the D100's.
I considered a Canon 30D v the D300, as I sold off my... |

Pros: Truly great looking shots right out of the box. Rich, vibrant colors and accurate focus.
Cons: Cost, no scene modes
The Bottom Line: Upgrade if you can. Because of its great performance in automatic mode you can get great photos while learning the nuances of your camera.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I agree with Sailingshot about the significant improvement of the D300 over the D200. I have owned a D70 and a D200. The D300 is the first DSLR that I have owned that takes pictures in the Program (Automatic) mode that make you say WOW! I have been...
