My Coolpix

I bought this camera because I broke my Kodak Easy Share. It's a solid camera with a decent price. It isn't cheap but it's not outrageously priced. It has a good variety of functions too. The Coolpix has anti shake technology, and face detection. Very sleek. When purchased, it runs on batteries. Doesn't come with a rechargeable battery. It is 8 Megapixels. The zoom is 3x. It comes with 21MB onboard memory and SD/SDHC card slot . I purchased the ruby red but it comes in navy blue also. Along with the shutter speed stated below, the face detection function doesn't really do much to enhance the quality photo. Other features that helped me make the decision to buy the Nikon Cool Pix are below. Nikon included an In-Camera Red-Eye Fix. It is supposed to automatically look for and fix most red-eye. Unfortunately, I have not used that feature yet. Also, I stated above the camera has face priority finds and focuses on up to 12 faces in a group portrait. I have tried it and wasn't impressed. A cool feature which is one reason I bought the camera is D-Lighting. It takes those photos that are too dark for printing and enhances the underexposed areas of the picture while not touching the properly exposed areas.
Here is my most used feature of all = the scene modes. They are:Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night Portrait, Party/Indoor, Beach/Snow, Sunset, Dusk/Dawn, Night Landscape, Close Up, Panorama Assist, Museum, Fireworks Show, Copy, Back Light modes. You can match you current shooting need. I had a hard time with the close up mode. If you don't adhere to specs for distance, it is blurry.
The Cool Pix can also do movies with sound There isn't a time limit to length as long as your memory card with hold it.One last thing: The Coolpix connects directly to your TV to watch those movies.
