Oh well, whatever... NEVERMIND!

by  Michael75 ,  Jul 14, 2001
21 out of 21 people found this review helpful.
Pros: It is the first and foremost grunge album (commercially speaking)
Cons: That incomprehensible last track (on CD)
The Bottom Line: A unique kind of music nowadays, typical even if no more current, performed by a great artist that has left no heirs in his genre.

Review: I read that on the 23rd of October it will be a decade since the release of Nevermind, the album which made Nirvana jump to the top of the hit parades of the whole world, scoring over 14 millions of copies sold, gaining immediately an honor place...

Nevermind the Rest

by  andym173 ,  Dec 22, 2002
21 out of 21 people found this review helpful.
Pros: The best album from one of the best bands ever.
Cons: It's hard to think of any...too short maybe?
The Bottom Line: Brilliant. Great guitar riffs and solos, incredible bass lines and extremely powerful drumming all combine to elevate this above anything else Nirvana have done.

Review: ***Ignore entire first paragrah here. What a load of bollocks. I'd swear it wasn't me that wrote it; that some raving fanboy broke into my house and commandeered my computer. But unfortunately, it was me.***

Let's get this out of the way...

This CD put Nirvana on the map

by  300ex ,  Jan 4, 2001
12 out of 12 people found this review helpful.
Pros: great sound, good producing, basically everything
Cons: nothing at all
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Having an exceptionally good selling disk can do two things for a artist: Make them famous, and have the band love it, or, in Nirvana's case, make them famous when they didn't want to be. Such is the case for Nevermind, Nirvana's 1991 grunge release...

This is a Classic

by  e13m3n7 ,  Nov 3, 2002
8 out of 8 people found this review helpful.
Pros: All of the songs are great. The music is well done.
Cons: Some what not enough songs.
The Bottom Line: Buy this CD. If you don't, you are denying yourself a great musical experience.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: All of the songs on this album are great. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is an awesome song, that really makes you think of the cynical nature of teenagers. "In Bloom," is one of my favorites on the CD because I love the beginning and I love the lyrics...

It's almost needless to say...oh well: Classic!

by  twinsfaninca ,  Sep 2, 2005
12 out of 12 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Guitars, songwriting, tasty melodies, drumming, bass, production, ages very well.
Cons: "Territorial P*ssings" and "Stay Away" are kind of bad...but that makes them even better.
The Bottom Line: Nevermind is, simply put, one of the essential pieces of any music collection. Its impact never wears thin.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: What album could possibly be in less need of a review than Nirvana's Nevermind? Especially at this point in time, given that everyone owns it and has defined their opinion on it. Even more, as much as I simply love Nirvana and strongly...

by  timbowie ,  Nov 24, 2001
10 out of 10 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Melodic, easy to sing along with, hooks galore
Cons: NONE... my EPINION
The Bottom Line: Buy it, jam it and replay it. You won't regret it.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Nirvanas 2nd release was met with MUCH fanfare, and skyrocketed the band to mind boggling career high. Kurt Cobain the bands frontman, a skinny, dirty, stringy haired guy from Aberdeen Washington, Chris Noveselic, and Dave Grohl sent the band to...

Pros: Great instrumentals, superb vocals
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: Most people who like Hard-Rock and Grunge-Rock will like Nirvana's Nevermind!

Review: I've been listening to this album for about half a year. It's a great album with favorites like "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Lithium." This is the best of Nirvana's albums in my opinion. If you like hard rock or grunge rock, you'd like Nirvana...

somtimes over production pays off

by  jonnyarafat ,  Jun 27, 2001
8 out of 8 people found this review helpful.
Pros: incrediblely simple yet breathtaking music, brilliant lyrics, original , etc
Cons: slightly over produced, an album which created a world of contradiction for Cobain
The Bottom Line: buy this album! this is grunge at one of its high points , and yet it remains a strangely mellow gold. indescribebably incredible
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Nevermind is more then just an incredible album. it is an anthem for millions. in 12 trackes Cobain and Co. manage to package just about all the feelings of generation x, while at the same time pointing out its own apathy. it is a brilliant album,...

Nevermind Nirvana's "Nevermind"

by  jokerman2003 ,  Jan 21, 2003
10 out of 10 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Some insightful song lyrics (e.g."Come as You Are," and "Breed").
Cons: Everything sounds the same. It's also very depressive and overrated.
The Bottom Line: Hence, what is my recommendation to someone wanting to start listening to Nirvana? Nevermind the hype.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: As I greatly enjoy listening to punk-music and the music of the early 70's (e.g. Clash, Replacements, Ramones), the music that primarily came out of the "grunge" era I find to be very depressive. Although I greatly respect the infleunce of Kurt...
