Here's to you Sid.....
Pros:
Everything
Cons:
Kurt Cobain is dead
The Bottom Line:
It doesn't matter that it is 15 years old, The Beatles are older than that and they are still great.

Author's Review
I remember when this album came out, it truly was the voice of my generation. I was going along listening to nothing but classic rock with a little rap thrown in (when I wanted to think I was cool). Then one day I walked by my friends brothers bedroom door and hear this music blaring out..."here we are now entertain us". What the hell is that? I had to know. I stepped into the dark hole and I yelled "what is this?" Sid (my friends little brother) replied "Its Nirvana". I spent the rest of the day in that dark hole of a room with Sid and his strange friends. They wrote on the walls and played with their skate boards while I kept telling Sid to play it again. As soon as the tape (yes it was a tape, not a CD) ended I wanted him to play it again.
Smells like teen spirit was the first single off the album and I will never forget the video, even my dad liked Nirvana after he heard that song, he said and I quote "I like that new band Nirvana, they sound like their parents were on acid back in the sixties" Yea I liked smells like teen spirit also, but I had already heard it enough and was familiar with the rest of the album.
Next up is In Bloom, one of my favorites, even though it is hard to pick favorites on this album. "He's the one that likes all our pretty song" It just goes to show how we as people are so gullible. He likes all the pretty songs, but he doesn't even know what the songs mean. Hmmm sounds like ,Smells like teen spirit, does anybody really know what that song is about?
Come as you are "Come as you are, as you were, as I want you to be", now those are some powerful lyrics. What is he trying to say? I feel that he is trying to say I want you to think I want you to be yourself, but I really want you to be what I want you to be. Okay, that made me dizzy. But seriously, I think its just about others expectations of you.
Breed I have to get up and thrash around every time this one comes on. "I don't mean to stare, we don't have to breed, we can plant a house, we can build a tree, I don't even care we could have all three" I love the heavy guitar and pounding drums in the beginning of the song. I just want to be with you no matter what you want I will do it, Is that what Courtney said?
Next up is Lithium, I used to like it, didn't really love it, but now that Lucas and Delana on "rock star Supernova" sang it and ruined it, I really can't even listen any more without hearing one of them.
Territorial Pissings, now this is a thrash song. It also reminds me of how a lot of teenagers feel "gotta find a way, a better way to get away". I think that is probably how 90% of teenagers feel. They are so tired of being restricted by their parents that they just want to get the f*ck away. Sorry, this song invokes feelings of rage.
Something in the way Is the only slow song and it is absolutely beautiful. "its okay to fish cause they don't have any feelings" I think Kurt Cobain had to many feelings and that is why he is dead, he was just to awesome for this world, but he will always be remembered.
There are many other great songs on this album, okay, all of them. But I won't write about them all. The others that I did not mention are.
Polly
Drain you
Lounge act
Stay away
On a plain
Its been 15 years since I walked into that dark hole and was washed up in Nirvana, and I just want to thank Sid for being such a cool kid with great taste in music. I know I would have heard Nirvana eventually, but I may not have realized how cool Sid really was. So here's to you Sid Newby.
