The Bottom Line: If you enjoy mystery solving games, buy it. It's a great company that offers a fun game and awesome customer support.
Her interactive has done it again with a wonderful game.
I would recommend any of the "Nancy Drew" collection and this one does not disappoint. The graphics and sound are spectacular.
As with all of the Nancy Drew line, it is well researched, so we are actually learning while we play. This game will please any who enjoy the "solve a mystery" style of play, including adults, children 8 and up and young adults.
Compared to the early editions of the Nancy Drew line, the graphics have grown with the company and technology available. Her Interactive is now a thriving company and they well deserve it. Other, earlier editions occasionally had comic book style graphics for the intervening story line, this is no longer the case. This game shows beautiful graphics and room detail and the intervening story runs in a movie style format with the same graphics as before.
The game runs smoothly, even on Vista.
The game is played by solving the mystery through a series of clues and puzzles. There are three levels of difficulty. During gameplay, you will interact with the people from the story.
Don't worry if you get stuck, Her Interactive has a fantastic website that will guide you. But, don't worry that it's just a simple walk through! The company has a system on their website that insures that the game will not be given away unless you want it to. You have to actively highlight the answer if you want to see a give-away. Otherwise, you are given mild to strong hints as to what to do next.
This game is far beyond the level of it's downloadable competition. It's much larger files and much longer game play. As an adult playing the game all day, these usually take me a few days to complete. Others I often solve in few hours.
As always, package design is superbly attractive. Basically, the boxes resemble books. I recommend keeping the outer boxes and putting them on a bookshelf to store the games in.
