Amazing I-Pod Phone

Personally I never had good experiences with the RAZR, so I wasn’t all that excited when I heard Motorola was releasing the SLVR (Motorola L7) which at first glance seemed like a flat RAZR. Upon further inspection I have truly fallen in love with this phone. It has many awesome features that I will describe in detail in the below sections.

Aesthetics:

The phone is very comfortable to hold even though it is very small which makes it very easy to carry around. The phone has a sleek look at 11.5mm thick, and looks futuristic with the all black casing and the one piece silver etched keypad. Even though the phone is small, thin, and light; it feels very solid and durable. The number pads are large enough to allow easy maneuvering. I have had no trouble dialing numbers as I have found is a problem with many smaller phones since the keypad usually gets smaller along with the phone. The screen resolution is 176 x 220 pixels. The screen looks very clear and the 262,000 colors the phone can display are bright. The phone looks cool and is easy to handle. I have yet to find any problems with the phone aesthetically.

Camera:

My only problem with the camera on this phone is that it only has a VGA resolution which is 0.3 megapixels. I would have preferred a better resolution on this phone, but the VGA resolution is fine for most of the applications a camera phone would be used for. Besides the resolution, the camera has a very nice interface. Simple point and shoot photography. The camera also features a 4 times zoom, and an exposure adjustment for extremely dark or bright lighting condition.
It can also film video which can come in handy in certain circumstances.

Music:

The SLVR L7 features a full version of itunes and comes standard with 512mb of memory. The phone basically doubles as a fully functional Ipod with a loudspeaker. The built in speaker plays the music clearly and loudly. The included earbud headphones plug into the usb port and also work very well for private listening. If you are not comfortable with the earbud headphones, there is a usb to eighth inch female headphone adapter included. If you get a phone call while you're listening to music, the music will stop and you can take the call through the headphones speaking into the mic attached to the headphone cord.
GUI:

The phones interface is very easy to maneuver through. All of the menu items are conveniently located on one page with a My Stuff icon containing all of the multimedia files.

Service:

I have had clear reception and full service since I got the phone. It is a quad band phone, so I do not expect to have unreasonably low service.

Battery Life:

So far the battery life is very good. The phone charges through the USB port.

Price:

I paid $199 with a new 2 year Cingular contract. This is a reasonable price on its own, but considering that it has a full Ipod interface built in the price is very low.
