Good Idea, Poor Execution

I was given a pair of Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones by my father-in-law after he realized he couldn't use them with his phone. Having a bluetooth capable phone and Bluetooth adapter for my computer I thought this would be a great thing to have.

I plugged 'em in and let them charge. Anxiously awaiting the time I could roam the house listening to my music and not having to worry about missing a phone call on my Bluetooth phone. I was sadly disappointed.

The range on these things are horrible! Worse than any bluetooth headset I've had for my phone. I got a song playing on the computer, paired the headset to the computer and phone and proceeded to walk out of the computer room. I lost the sound at once... less than 10 feet from the computer. I tried multiple times and never could make it past the door.

I suppose I could use them IN the computer room... but considering I have a 5 speaker system hooked to the computer, I really don't see the point. I'll just keep my cell headset on and use my computer speakers.

The battery life seems very short lived as well. While I didn't use them very much, I noticed the battery will not hold a charge for more than a day, even with the headphones turned off!

Another issue I have is that I found them rather bulky and uncomfortable. The band that goes around the back of your head isn't adjustable and is too long, causing it to stick off the back of my head. This seems to cause the headphones to be just enough off balance that they tend to move around on my ears while wearing them.

I was really hoping they would work the way I had envisioned. I'm just glad I didn't pay for them.
