DECENT, BUT CRUD COMPARED TO MENS HEALTH

In order to get me to see the mag, and hopefully get a subscription (pretty desperate marketing tactic, huh?), Mens Fitness started sending me free isues. The latest one claimed that unless I started paying them, I wouldn't receive them anymore. So what did I do? I got a subscription...to MENS HEALTH. Which is a thicker, more informative, more popular, more helpful magazine all around.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Mens Fitness is useless. Not at all. But I was getting it for FREE. For that price (zero, haha), there was some good info. Usually only one article per issue really sparked my interest though, or really changed my time in the gym. I have to admit that since I started receiving these free issues, my time in the gym has been dramatically altered. I lift and do cardio differently, and more effectively, since receiving it. But at this point I had never read Mens Fitness's main competitor, Mens Health. It looked thicker and nicer. One could argue that's it's only thicker because it's crammed with advertisements, which is true, but this only shows it's more popular and widely-read. I don't mind that at all.

Mens Health had TONS of useful tips, not just on exercise, but on electronics, sex, ways to change your eating. It was awesome!

The bottom line is that if you really know what you're doing, both of these mags are scams. Getting a 6-pack, for example, is as a simple 1-2-3 process. The hard part is actually doing it. Diet, weight lift, and do cardio. The weight WILL come off. So all the amazingly insightful tips that these mags give you are, actually, someone repetitive and basic. But I enjoy it anyway. They're entertaining at the least.
