I Love Getting Lost On This Highway!
Pros:
Dream Like
Film Noirish
Mind Blowing
Cons:
Slow at times
Confusing to most
If you hate Lynch, you'll hate this
The Bottom Line:
Though it is not as good as Mulholland Drive, it is an incredible, mesmerising experience. Now once again recommeded only for Lynch fans, it is incredible. An artistic masterpiece.

Author's Review
My first Lynch movie was Mulholland Drive. I watched it late one Friday night and never forgot it. It was mesmerising, hypnotic, and filled with deep emotions running deep below its surface. I fell in love with the movie and the directing.
After seeing that movie I quickly looked up all the other movies he had directed. I came across the name Lost Highway. The name alone grabbed me. I read up on it and found it was supposed to be very similar to Mulholland Drive. After some difficulty tracking it down, I rented it from a Hollywood Video. Once again I watched it late on a Friday night(which you should do with all of his movies, watch them at night). I was sucked in.
It's hard to give a plot, mainly because the plot is not as important to the story. The movie is about the emotions and feeling, feelings of guilt, distrust, anger, fear, lonelyness, lust, and suspicion. The movie is about the scenery and atmosphere. Shots of lonely roads illuminated by headlights, shots of a burning cabin, electricity, ghostly sex, and blackness. The movie is about the music. It has a wonderful soundtrack which I own. It's about the art.
The acting is very good as well. The preformances are suttle but good. I think Robert Blakes charecter is one of the creepiest charectors I have seen in a movie.
The movie also contains mant memorable scenes including the creepy video tapes, the scenes with Robert Blake and most of all the desert sex scene. That scene was the most beatifully shot sceans in the entire movie. It took place late at night. The two(Arqutte and Getty) alone in the dark lonley desert. On the ground, the sex illuminated by their cars headlight, making them look ghostly. The scene was surreal and hypnotic and is unforgetable. Now that's great directing!
Lost Highway is a wonderful, mysterious, dark journey into the mind of one man. I only recomend it for Lynch fans though. It will probably just confuse everyone else. If you're a Lynch fan or someone who loves dark, weird, and unconventional films, I highly recommend this movie. Or if you are just someone who loves art pictures, a must see.
P.s. Make sure and watch it at night for the full effect.
