Very cool, but lacks some things.

Well, I had great hopes for this camera. It has such a cool look, and when the face tracking is enabled, it's almost freaky how it follows you. But I have to say, even though it's very sleek, well designed, and damn cool, I have decided to take mine back to Best Buy to exchange for something else. I will go back to using my Quick Cam 4000 Pro. Why? Well, a few reasons.

1. The main reason is that I really like the focus ring on the older cams. Why isn't there a focus feature on this camera? Who knows. I mean the picture is clear, and in focus, but if you need to take pics or videos of something small, and close up, for the extra fine detail, forget it with the Orbit. If you are using it for general face communication through video conference, I imagine it would be great. But I need that focus.
2. Also, I like the privacy lid on the QC4000 Pro. At any time, I can just tap the lid over the lens and not worry about anything.
3. Lastly, I'd have to say that the Orbit just seems too sensitive. I mean, not only does this baby look fragile, but it is. And it's pretty heavy for its size.

When I first saw the camera, I thought that it not only followed your face around by rotation, I also thought (from the pics on the box and the web) that it would rise up and down on this "Stick-like" thing. But that is an additional attachment that is included. It's like a USB extension. But that's no biggie. I use mine on top of my monitor, so I don't need that extension.

***Be aware that this camera is not USB 2.0. By this, I mean, that it does not operate at USB 2.0 speeds. The It is able to plug into a USB 2.0 port, but only operates at USB 1.1 still.
