Quiet, small, affordable, and it works!

The Bottom Line: A high-quality printer with a low price tag. For anything but photos, this should serve you well and for a long time.
After using inkjet printers for nearly a decade, I finally made the switch to laser printing with the HP LaserJet 1020. It has a very small stature--especially for a laser--and when folded up it is about 10x10 on the top and sides.
Setup was typical for HP printers and very easy with the computer finding the printer right away and working in no time at all.
The print quality is superb and is fairly quick. The envelope/label bypass slot is very nice. On my last printer, envelopes fed through the bypass would often feed a little crooked, thus the print would be crooked. I haven't had that problem once with this printer.
Though the toner cartridges may seem expensive, unless you print books at a time, one toner cartridge will likely last you an entire year. That's been my experience at least. The cartridges are also very easy to install.
Printer designs are now starting to get pretty cool and interesting, but this one isn't to bad at all, largely due to the two-color body style and arching face, rather than giving it a box shape. It's rather nice looking really.
And finally, but best thing about this printer is the value! It's extremely affordable compared to other laser printers and is a workhorse!
