Author's Review
Reading these reviews that people have said about the LG Dishwasher, scares me! Unless I have just been lucky, I have had ZERO problems with mine. We have had it for 2 years plus I had the model up in another house for a year before we sold that house. We also had no problems with that one. Hints why we bought another with the new house!
Here is a few specs that Best Buy has on their site:
Hidden control panel is simple to operate and provides a contemporary look;
lockout feature allows you to lock the controls, preventing unintentional and unsupervised use.
Sense-Clean wash system uses 3 wash arms to thoroughly clean dishes on both the top and bottom racks
5 cycles handle all of your dish cleaning needs, including power scrub, normal, delicate and rinse only; sanitary rinse uses 161° rinse water to kill most food bacteria for dishes that are completely clean
Customizable upper rack and fold-down tines in the lower rack adjust to accommodate dishware of various shapes and sizes, creating space in the tub for everything on your table; tub can hold up to 16 place settings
3 detachable cutlery baskets with covers offer convenient and secure storage for specialty cooking tools and silverware; cup rack holds glasses in place; stemware holder secures delicate glassware during washing
Rinse aid dispenser with refill light disperses the correct amount of rinse aid during the cycle for improved results
Add-a-dish feature allows you to add a forgotten dish after the cycle has begun
Stainless-steel, hard-food disposer finely grinds food particles into pieces small enough to be rinsed away, eliminating the need to prewash;
self-cleaning filter prevents food from being deposited on clean dishware
OptiDry Hybrid drying system combines condensation and fan drying, for faster drying with reduced spotting;
delay-start option lets you program the dishwasher to begin when it is most convenient for you, from 1 to 12 hours
Durable stainless-steel tub withstands everyday use;
end-cycle indicator alerts you when the cycle is complete so you can plan accordingly
Lo Decibel quiet operation eliminates most operational noise, so you can enjoy peace and quiet while taking care of the dishes
With all that out of the way, I can tell you how great it has been for us! First off, you cant hear the thing run! No need to run it when your a sleep or gone. You can not here it! I open it every now and then to make sure its working! My neighbor calls in "The Ferrari of Dishwashers!"
So far as the Jet Dry Feature. I also have had no problems with that working! How ever I do not use Jet Dry. I use just plain Vinegar! It does the exact same thing but only 3% of the cost! My glasses always come out spot free!
As far as the dishes. I leave everything on them! Dried egg, macaroni, sauce, you name it! It never has a problem cleaning the dishes! The built in disposal grinds it all away with ease! It too, leaves the dishes spot free!
The child lock just keeps the kids from changing the settings! Unfortunately, it does not lock the door from them opening it. I really wish they added that to the features!
The buttons are all on the top and light up when you activate them. The button lay out is very easy to read and the dishwasher of course is very simple to use!
The cutlery baskets are great too! You can detach them and place them in other areas of the dishwasher if needed. One of the baskets has an adjustable lid that move up and down! This feature is great for baby supplies. It will keep them together so they don't get thrown around the dishwasher from the 4 levels of sprayers.
Also, on the top rack on the right hand side, it has an adjustable lid. This also is designed for baby bottles or cups. What you do is put the bottles or cups there and put the little lid down on top of it to hold it in place. There are also little cut out slots to put the baby nipples so they can be cleaned. You can also put small baby items like bottle lids or sippey cup lids on top of those shelf's.
Like I said, I have had ZERO problems with this dishwasher. My friends liked it so much that
3 of them went and bought the same ones. They have had theirs for over 1 year, and they to feel the same as us. They love it, and also have had no problems.
I bought my first one at Best Buy, the new house I bought it from Home Depot. Two of my friends bought theirs at Best Buy and the other bought theirs at Conns. All of them have been priced the same and are working awesome.
Of course with any appliance, I would always buy the extended warranty. I have yet to use mine, but it is just added assurance.
This is not a review based on one dishwasher. This is based on 5 that I know of. If I can get them to write a review, we can change the rating on it. You cant go wrong!
I highly recommend this dishwasher!
6-9-09 - Had our first problem. The dishwasher stopped working and threw an LE code. We have the extended warrenty so the repair man came out today. It looks as if a blue wire came loose on the main pump. He put a new connection on it and it is working just fine again. Until that happened, the dishwasher has been running like new. Again, it is running like new. I still have no compalints and strongly recomend.
