Watch out on this one

We purchased this dishwasher from Home Depot last spring and it worked well at first but we started experiencing poor cleaning starting in November. By Christmas we had to start hand washing dishes. LG was very responsive and had a local company take a look at it. The technician said the motor is about to give out and LG will not honor the warranty because we used the new Cascade tablets - he said it is best to use the cheapest/thinnest liquid because the motor will give out. He also said this was his #1 type of service call too (servicing LG dishwashers). He also turned around and saw our LG refrigerator that we bought two years ago and said we should get an extended warranty on that too. He said all we can do for the dishwasher is to clean it using Glisten and purchase an extended warranty to replace the motor when it goes. We used Glisten twice with no luck. After looking at all the bad reviews on this dishwasher and hearing about LG's customer service regarding this common motor problem, we went directly to Home Depot. They really took care of us and replaced it with a Maytag Jetclean III. I can't say enough about the responsiveness of Home Depot. I wonder if it is common knowledge there that these LG dishwashers are troublesome?
