Great dryer - perfect complement to matching washer

I purchased the LG DLE5955 Electric Dryer (in white) at the same time that I purchased the matching LG WM2455 washer (see that review http://www99.epinions.com/content_436633833092).

This dryer has been the perfect complement to the matching washer. The dryer has an extra-large capacity, with a 7.3 cubic foot drum. In my experience, this holds a lot! For example, in one load, I managed to dry 4 pairs of pants (2 of them jeans), 6 shirts, 3 full-size bath towels and a futon slip cover - all in less than an hour. My old dryer would've taken twice as long (or I would have had to split it into 2 loads).

The best part is that the dryer automatically senses how wet the clothes are and determines how long to run based on that. When you first put in your load and turn it on, you choose which type of clothing you're drying. The options are:
Sensor Dry: Normal, Cotton/Towels, Delicates, Wrinkle Care, Heavy Duty, Ultra Delicate
Manual Dry: Speed Dry, Air Dry, Freshen Up.

I generally use one of the Sensor Dry options. With Sensor Dry, once you choose your clothing type and press the start button, the dryer will give an estimated running time based on the dampness level. In my experience, this time can change depending on how quickly the clothes dry. The dryer just continues to sense the moisture level in the clothing and adjusts the time it runs based on that. Thus far, I have never had a load run longer than about 55 minutes (which also attests to how well the matching washer gets the water out in the spin cycle!).

In 3 weeks of use, the dryer has consistently delivered perfectly dried clothing. Not once have I opened the dryer at the end of a cycle, only to find the clothing still damp (something that happened with some regularity with my old dryer).

The only time I've bothered to use the Manual Dry was when I just wanted to bounce the wrinkles out of a cotton shirt really quickly. I set the dryer to Freshen Up and let it run for about 3 minutes and I was all set to go (without having to iron -yay!).

I find that you can really just use one of the basic Sensor Dry programs and let the dryer do the rest. But there are more options that you can manually set, including:
Temperature: High, Medium High, Medium, Low, Ultra Low
Drying Levels: Very Dry, More Dry, Normal Dry, Less Dry, Damp Dry
Dry Times: 60 minutes, 50 minutes, 40 minutes, 30 minutes, 20 minutes, More Time, Less Time.

And a neat little feature is that when the dry cycle is over, instead of that annoying end beep that most dryers make, the LG DLE5955 sings a cute little tune.

Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend this dryer (and matching washer) to anyone looking for a mid-range, efficient, easy-to-use dryer.
