Product Review

Would a pricier China made toaster be really much better?

by   maestro_mario ,   Sep 26, 2008

Pros:  High power, 1100Watts. Fast, doesn't dehydrate the bread. Clever high lift mechanism.

Cons:  Uneven browning; Need to flip the bred at half time to obtain an even browning.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Author's Review

Quality seem's to be discontinued. I've considered a lot of toaster in the 60$ to 130$ price range and i'm not sure that paying more will buy me a toaster that will toast better, faster and last long enough to be given to my daughter when she'll moove out of the house. They all had a original look and one button functions like the one you don't use on your microwave, bus none of them were all metal with some weight. They all felt flimsy. And what happend to narrow slots?! Because of the wide slots, the electric elements are way too far from the bread surface to toast evenly. When the top is ok, the bottom is still white. The metallic grid that centers the bread slices leaves a vertical pattern on the toast. Improper power cord quality; small gauge and not high temperature type.At least with this one when you don't toast sliced bread, the high lift feature is practical. So OK considered what else is offered on the market.
