I have owned a few bassinet in the past 12 years. I not only love the classic, simple look but so far my experience has shown that the classic, simple designs are easier to use and more comfortable. This bassinet is no exception.
This simple bassinet starts with a classic white look complete with skirt. The metal and plastic frame easily assembles but also easily comes apart for travel. It features 4 casters to easily change it's location around the house. Attached to the frame by snaps is a very room basket to hold all the essentials and then some. We currently have diapers, wipes, receiving blankets, a hat and outfit and all the bassinet sheets in there and it still looks pretty empty. The removable bassinet portion not only sits in the frame but snaps on for added security. The bassinet collapses for travel but locks upright when in use. Aside from the white interior and white skirted exterior it features mesh inserts for airflow. The removable canopy is easy to use and offers a lot of coverage. It is also white with 2 attached, unisex, plush toys: a star and a moon. The mattress in my opinion is pretty thin and flimsy but in 12 years every bassinet I have purchased has had that same mattress. I guess that is why they sell upgraded mattresses at baby stores. The mattress does fit standard bassinet sheets though, something I have learned not all bassinets do (so have many times have to use a makeshift sheet from a pillowcase). The sturdy bottom of the bassinet must make it comfortable because so far my daughter has liked it (my previous 2 children didn't like out Graco bassinet only our cheaper one so we got this to replace the Graco, the Graco is at my moms and so far she doesn't like that one either). The bassinet has a 15 lb weight limit. Then to upgrade to the modern times this bassinet features a removable, electronic "box". The box vibrates at adjustable speeds and also plays 5 lullabies at adjustable volume. It attaches to the end of the bassinet for easy use to vibrate and lull baby to sleep.
The only con I have can be a plus too. The vibration and lullabye do not appear to be on a timer so keep going as long as left on. The con of this is the batteries could go dead from your 1 yr old turning it on and leaving it. But I guess the pro is the vibration won't turn off mid nap and possibly wake baby. So far though the batteries have held up very well despite my son doing this. I have not had to change them at all yet.
This bassinet is on baby #3 and still going strong. The entire fabric part has been easily machine washed and still looks new. It has also held up to my 1 yr old climbing on it, it has not even tipped over when he does this, despite it being empty at the time.
