Great Machine!

I have owned this machine for about a week now and have only used it twice, but so far so GREAT!

First Try

I was headed to a party at the last minute and had to bring something. I decided to make hummus because I had all the ingredients and was dying to use my new machine. This processor made 4 cups of hummus in 10 seconds flat! It worked so fast is almost scared me.

Assembly

It took me a while to get the machine assembled at first. The safety features installed in the machine make it a bit cumbersome to put the lid on the bowl and the bowl on the base, but after several attempts I was able to get the machine assembled and have not had any problems since then.

Capacity

I had previously used by mother's old 3 cup processor (not from KitchenAid) and constantly had to empty ingredients to make room for new ones. Space is not a problem in this big machine! It is a 12 cup mixer so as long as you are not a commercial chef (and even if you are one) that should be plenty of room. I look forward to using it to make huge batches of cookies.

For smaller jobs, my machine came with a 3 cup bowl and small blade to do small chopping.

Price

I bought my machine from QVC, on sale, so it was at a drastically reduced price. But, in my opinion it is worth every penny. Other machines of this caliber, especially Cuisinarts, cost much more and you do not get any many attachments. I think that it was a good deal for the price.

Counter Space Issues

This is a huge machine, but on my counter it is about the size of my coffee machine. It easily fits under my cabinets and does not get in the way of other food prep.

Kitchenaid

I am a foody and love KitchenAid. I received a KitchenAid stand mixer for Christmas and don't know what I did without it. In my personal opinion, I do not think a person could go wrong with a Kitchenaid product, they are well made and last for generations. The Kitchenaid name alone should make you run toward this machine.

Clean-up

This machine can be a bit tricky to clean. The work bowl is very large and food got in the handle when I made my hummus. But, the parts are dishwasher safe and when the food got stuck in the handle, I was able to rinse it out with no problems. Also, because of the way the buttons are designed, food cannot get inside them.
