Stallone still have the energy to put out a good action film.

Rambo is an action thriller that was released in January of 2008. This 91 minute movie was rated R because of very graphic bloody violence, sexual assaults as well as grisly images. The language in this movie is also very bad as well.

The story for Rambo is very good. There is a bunch of Christian Aid workers who want to go into Burma to help save lives. You see there is a civil war of sorts going on there and people are dyeing left and right. These Christian doctor are not taking any guns just bibles and medicine with them. They will try to enlist the help of Rambo to take them down river. However, Rambo has not changed and he still doesn't like people and he still just wants to be left alone. He will change him mind though and you will like who changes his mind it will prove to be very interesting. The group will go to a village that is bad need of medical help and while they are there the military will come in and totally kill everyone in the village. The only ones spared are the white Christian workers. Rambo will feel it is his duty to save these people he took into this battle zone. The story and the characters are very well thought out.

Sylvester Stallone plays John Rambo the non sociable killer. Rambo is catching and selling poisonous snakes to a Snake Village owner so that they can be used in their snake charming performance. He is still a loner and doesn't let anyone close to him.

Julie Benz plays Sarah a Christian Aid worker who wants to go into Burma to bring medication and religion to the country.

Paul Schulze plays Michael Burnett. Michael is definitely naive when it comes to what is actually going on in Burma. This man is so convinced he is going to save the people that he can not be stopped. He also has a personal relationship with Sarah.

Cameron Pearson plays Jeff, Thomas Peterson plays a dentist, and Tony Skarberg plays videographer. This completes the list of Missionaries who are being taken to Burma. Some will not make it back I am sorry to say.

Now there will be a group of so called mercenaries that will be hired to save the missionaries. There mercenaries are not really what I would call gung ho. They just want money and don't care if they save anyone but themselves.

Matthew Marsden plays School Boy, Graham McTavish plays Lewis, Reynoldo Gallegos plays Diaz and Jake LaBotz plays Reese. These were the mercenaries that were hired.

My Opinion:

I have to say as a whole I liked this movie and would recommend this movie to adults. I do not think this is a movie for children under seventeen at all. I loved the story plot but I could have done with a little less blood and gore. This movie could have stood alone with out all the graphic blood and gore scenes.

There is a very long battle with the military of Burma and the rescue team. You will see bombs going off and the actual head flying one way and the legs another and the arms even in another direction. There is not a gun shot goes off that you do not see spurting blood all over the place. There is one scene where a sharp shooter literally shoots a guy in the head, and the head explodes with blood and brain matter every where. The graphic bloody scenes are terrible and I would not recommend a child to see this. If you are an adult and you like to see blood and war this is the movie for you. I do think they could have made this movie without all the bad language and the graphic bloody scenes. The special effects in the movie are very well done and up to date even though I could use a little less blood you could not ask for more realistic battle scenes than this.
