Most Practical Choice in Twin Strollers

by   amanda-su ,   Dec 14, 2005

Pros:  affordable, easy to push, fits through any commercial door frame, durable, folds compact, stylish

Cons:  not found in most stores, only moderate weather protection

The Bottom Line:  This stroller has exceeded my expectations in durability and all around fuctionality - well worth the $200!

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I knew I would need to buy a double stroller soon after my preemie twins were discharged from the hospital as I would be by myself taking them to appointments. After doing a little research on available options, the Inglesina Twin Swift seemed like the best choice all around.

I ordered one online that came with free shipping and a couple of extras(cup holder, and a light for night or fog strolling). Three days later, UPS brought it to my door. Impressively, it only took a minute or two for me to figure out how to unfold it. Then, the only parts to attach were the canopies that snapped right on to the sides and middle bars.

Features:

durable, steel frame
5 point safety harnesses
capacity: 90 pounds combined
4 point reclining seats
removable, washable seat linings
foam wheels with breaks
three separate handles
under seat storage baskets

Now that I have used it several times with my twin sons, I really have no complaints! It is pure joy getting out in the open air with such an easy to push, smooth riding stroller. With its steel frame and smooth handling over moderately rough surfaces(such as asphalt), this is not your average umbrella stroller(I love the foam wheels!). You can literally spin the stroller around with one hand, making going through doors and cutting corners a sinch.

The stroller is actually rated for children 6 months old and up, but with seats that recline to a 20 degree angle and the 5 point safety harnesses -- it has worked like a champ for my tiny two month olds. They are actually more reclined in this stroller than in their infant carriers.

While the canopies don't come down in the front at all to protect from drafts or windblown rain, they are big compared to other umbrella strollers. Still, I would definitely recommend ordering the rain/weather protector extra along with this stroller.
